    <title>Explorers</title>
<desc>Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix stars as school friends, avid science-fiction fan Ben Crandall and science buff Wolfgang Mueller and both have identical dreams in which they are flying over a giant circuit-board. Joined by a third friend Darren Woods (Jason Presson), they build the circuit. Once attached to a computer, the circuit creates an inertialess sphere of energy capable of penetrating through solid matter. Finding that they are able to control this by typing the x-y-z coordinates into a computer, they build a ramshackle machine in which they are able to fly about while encased in the energy sphere. While testing it out, they are pursued by the military as a UFO. Heading up into the upper atmosphere, a force takes control and draws them out beyond the Moon to a rendezvous with an alien ship.</desc>

    <title>Blade Runner</title>
<desc>Ridley Scott&apos;s Blade Runner, based on the novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick, is a haunting, eerily prophetic mix of science fiction and film noir. Harrison Ford stars as Rick Deckard, once a blade runner or sanctioned assassin. Deckard is called out of retirement to stop four &quot;replicants&quot; - genetically altered humans with superior strength and intellects who are used as slave labour on &quot;Off-world&quot; colonies. These homicidal androids have returned to Earth for a killing spree; Rutger Hauer stars as their leader Roy Batty. Sean Young stars as Rachael, who is Batty&apos;s target&apos;s mysterious assistant and Deckard will find himself falling in love before his search for Batty is over. Blade Runner is universally acclaimed as one of the most highly influential science fiction films.</desc>
