    <title>Selkie</title>
<desc>This fantasy adventure story from Donald Crombie (The Killing of Angel Street) stars Sick Puppies&apos; guitarist Shimon Moore as Jamie; a teenager who has more than his fair share of anxieties. Jamie has a good job, is on the footy team and is the lead guitarist in a rock band. All this is threatened when his mum excitedly comes home with big news. Celine O&apos;Leary (Rabbit-Proof Fence) stars as Dr Iona Duncan and she&apos;s landed her dream job as head scientist at a marine research base on a remote island. The whole family must move and, as if this weren&apos;t enough, Jamie discovers that those funny web-like things between his fingers he&apos;s been keeping secret are a sign that he is a selkie. In Celtic mythology, Selkies were seals who could shed their skins and live as humans, and revert to their seafaring ways as seals in the water. Jamie is determined to find the secret spell that will rid him of, what he sees as, the curse. He encounters Loopy Laura (Elspeth Ballantyne), an eccentric old lady who haunts the seafront and she helps him to feel proud of who he is. Support cast includes Chelsea Bruland (McLeod&apos;s Daughters), Michael Habib (Australian Rules) and Bryan Marshall (Embassy) as Jamie&apos;s grandfather.</desc>
