    <title>Broken Hill</title>
<desc>Luke Arnold and Timothy Hutton star in this drama about a teenage boy living on an outback property who tries to turn his dream of gaining a place at the Conservatorium of Music into a reality, but a wayward girl and his strict father are obstacles in his way. A misfit in his local rural community due to his passion for musical composition and conducting, teenager Tommy McAlpine (Luke Arnold) is undeterred by the derision of his friends and his father&apos;s (Timothy Hutton) dismissive attitude. Tommy is driven by the idea of moving from his isolated home in the Outback to study music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but when Kat Rogers (Alexa Vega), a new girl at school, distracts his attention by drawing him into trouble, he becomes frustrated. Ending up in court as a result of Kat&apos;s shenanigans, she and Tommy are sentenced to community service with a group of inmates, where Tommy seizes an opportunity to show Kat his musical talents by forming the inmates into a musical ensemble which may yet impress the lecturer in charge of entry to the Conservatorium.</desc>
